Donna has always had a strong interest in healthcare, with health promotion being her main passion. Donna is currently employed by an organisation that oversees the 14 divisions of General Practice in South Australia. They are involved in a wide range of activities that include health promotion, early intervention and prevention strategies, chronic disease management and medical education.
Growing up on a large farm in South Eastern South Australia, Donna completed her schooling in Bordertown, then moved to Adelaide to pursue tertiary education. Experience in medical administration and practice management exposed Donna to the field of health promotion.
Donna is undertaking part-time study to complete her undergraduate Bachelor of Health Science degree with a health promotion major at Flinders University. Donna also volunteers for the National Heart Foundation, by giving regular Heart Health talks to community groups to raise awareness of heart attack prevention.
Now living in the Adelaide’s eastern suburbs, Donna balances work and study with yoga practice, exercising at the gym, catching up with family and friends and visits to South Australia’s world-class wine regions. Sunny days see Donna exploring Adelaide and surrounds on her scooter.
Donna loves being an aunty to her six nieces and nephews, and enjoys visiting her family in Padthaway and Canberra.
