David was born in the Riverland town of Renmark in South Australia where his parents lived all their lives before the family moved to the suburbs of Adelaide.
David was a member of the Rotaract Club of Noarlunga where he developed a greater sense of community responsibility while having a great social time supporting many Rotaract activities. It was at one of these he met fellow Rotaractor Lyn and they married in 1986. They now have 3 boys, Brad 22, Cameron 20 and Rhys 19 who are studying Law and Engineering at University.
David worked for the State Bank of SA for 23 years before moving to Australia Post in 1996 where he is currently the Contract Manager for SA/NT.
David has been a member of the Rotary Club of Mitcham for 7 years where he has undertaken numerous roles including President. He has a passion for Youth activities and has served on RYLA and Youth Exchange District Committees. Two of his sons have been fortunate enough to have been on Youth Exchange (Brad to Japan 2007 and Cameron to Brazil 2009).
2 years ago David started to walk the 1200km Heysen trail from Cape Jervois to the Flinders Ranges with the Friends of the Heysen Trail. In addition to sharing experiences with family and friends, David enjoys golf, gardening, travelling and enriching the lives of others through his involvement in Rotary.
